Cellulite is not a special form of fat, but it is produced in the fat tissue. It is caused by a disturbance of the natural metabolism, where excess fat is just an additional factor. Orange-peel skin concerns blown up fat cells.

In the normal state these cells are approximately as large as a pinhead. At cellulite however they easily reach the tenfold of their natural size and can even reach the size of white beans!

Cellulite occurs in the soft dermal tissue (in the subcutane tissue or corum).

There the following structures are found:

1. Fat cells, which save energy
2. Fibroblasts, which synthetise collagens
3. Net of collagen (stability) and elastin (elasticity)
4. Base substance (matrix), a jelly like mass, which keeps everything together
5. Blood and lymphatic vessels
6. Ends of nerves


These structures have to be in harmonic balancy in order to make our skin smooth and strong and to keep it like this!

Female skin only consists of vertical fibres. Fat cells arch out!	At men the fat is kept like in a net. Therefore cellulite seldomly occurs!
